Hopeless Variations

Ews Nsj kept my eyesight in the far background through the duration of this extremely meditative collection of tracks. one might be forgiven,... if they had not listened intensely and with focus,.. for assuming that these could be remixes of the same piece. yet that, to me, seems lightyears from the actuality of HV after having listened intently through each chapter. indeed around the point of the two wonderful pieces, “pictures of tomorrow” and “end of the sky”, i began to visualise a beautiful blue being laying in burnt red sands on some unknown heavenly body, that must have been earth-like (but definitely not...Earth)... in the vision i was suddenly inside the blue figure i saw,..laying flat and staring up to the depths above. i then witnessed a wonderful display where the sky featured enormous thin shifting sheets of floating dust and vapor (imagine if Earth’s clouds were pressed flat). in many places there where giant round holes in these sky layers and i could see beams of light flooding down onto the sands, not too distant from where i lay,..emanating from two ‘Sun’-like stars. and where the light struck the sand there was a bluish fog that seemed to glow with a pulsing intensity, as if the light caused some strange reaction with the surface of this planet. as the holes in these strange clouds would shift and move so would the beams and glowing mists... — i find it difficult to choose a fav on this album due to the fact that each track seems to contain some extra little part that caught my ear,... whether it be in the way the elements are manipulated in the stereo field or the psychoacoustic moments of me imagining distant buried voices, chant and/or imagined melody caused by the various overlapping timbres within each piece,.. there is something in each ‘chapter’ to make it unique. definitely recommend to take this journey in good headphones with eyes closed (or while peering into nature or flowing visuals)
